Encorian uses Umbraco as a web content management system.
Umbraco is robust, efficient, and easy to customize to individual
requirements. It is well-supported and favorably regarded in the
CMS community -- in 2009, CMS Wire described it as one of the
leading CMS systems with over 1000 new installations every
day.
We like Umbraco because it is adaptable. No two CMS
deployments have the same requirements, so it is important to use a
CMS that can easily be extended.
Our focus is on merging legacy database information into classic
web publishing workflow. We frequently are asked to integrate
data from a line-of-business application into a CMS, and Umbraco
makes this straightforward. This allows us to develop
powerful solutions at a reasonable cost.
Our solutions scale from a few pages to a few thousand pages,
and we find the Umbraco web CMS provides a solid foundation for web
portals, intranets, and publicly-facing websites at all traffic
levels.
Bringing It Together
Working primarily in E&P means we get to work with
authoritative data stores like PPDM. Our web CMS solutions
can reach into PPDM databases to do seismic searches, well
searches, and even geocoded queries.
We can also integrate ESRI databases to present spatial imagery
alongside any other published content. Same deal for Google
Maps. Need to integrate a feed from a third-party source,
such as an instrumented rig or land database? We can do that
too.
